Aethel Partners LLP, founded in 2014, is a financial advisory firm working on special situations, complex transactions and sovereign restructurings.

The firm has advised governments and state entities on financial restructurings and on cross-border acquisitions of natural resource assets. It has also advised on acquisitions in mining, oil and gas and banking.

Aethel Partners acts as convenor where capital, regulation and sovereign interests intersect, bringing together creditors who would otherwise have no organised voice.

Ricardo Santos Silva

Founder and Managing Partner

Ricardo is based in London. He founded Aethel Partners in 2014 and leads the firm’s mandates, working on sovereign and corporate restructurings and special situations. Previously, he was a Vice President at Lyxor Asset Management.

Brian Jarmain

Partner

Brian is based in Greenwich, Connecticut and focuses on special situations and creditor relationships. Previously, he worked over 25 years in credit and special situations at Silver Point Capital and Third Avenue Management.

Manuel Recarey

Managing Director

Manuel is based in New York and focuses on claimholder engagement and the analysis of commercial claims. Previously, he spent over a decade in equity research at Oppenheimer and Kaufman Bros.
